An advanced dash mark encryption system for Inventory management was designed at S7 Airlines
FORS Development Center announced the implementation of an advanced dash mark encryption system, developed for the S7 Airlines ((brand of Sibir Airlines) on the base of the Inventory module of Oracle E-Business Suite.
S7 Airlines is one of the major airlines on domestic air routes of Russia, and is listed among TOP-50 world air carriers in this segment. S7 Airlines operates the largest domestic flight network in Russia built around the three hubs in Moscow (Domodedovo), Novosibirsk (Tolmachevo) and Irkutsk. S7 Airlines makes regular flights to Europe, Middle East, Southern Asia and Asian Pacific destinations. Now S7 operates the most modern and “youngest” fleet in Russia with the average aircraft age of 6 years. That’s why it is extremely important to keep it in a perfect working order. Spare parts and inventory are kept at the stores in Moscow and Novosibirsk, where it is also planned to implement such a system in the nearest future.
It should be mentioned that OEBS Inventory was applied at the company before for stores management. The next step was to develop functional enhancement providing dash mark encryption for the inventory management. Therefore, the aim of the project was to bring down the labour effort spent for the data input. FORS as a certified OEBS Partner was chosen to execute that task.
FORS proposed the solution for automatically uploading of the data from the dash mark devices to the OEBS Inventory forms. Operator uses handy scanner to input the data via his PC desktop. For that, FORS provided the enhancement of the standard functionality of OEBS Inventory.
In the result of that project, data on store operations started to process at OEBS much faster; the efficiency of the employees’ work grew up essentially as well. At the moment the solution is at the industrial use.
